PAINTING GUIDE
Metals
  • bg

When the decision is made to paint metals, one not only needs to take into account the decorating concepts, such as the color and type of finish, but also the condition, the necessary protection and the adhesion to the surface.

Synthetic enamels are the most common option for painting and surface protection of iron or steel, both outdoors and indoors, such as on fences, railings, gates and pipes.

Neucextra Enamel allows for high quality finishes and good protection with just one coat of universal binder.

Use Corroveda for surfaces subject to frequent maintenance. Simple, practical and effective, Corroveda is anticorrosive and can be applied directly over rust.

If you wish to use a more environmentally friendly paint, use Aqualur, an aqueous enamel which, as in the case of Neucextra, allows for 3 levels of brightness (Bright, satin and matte).

Galvaneuce is the best choice for painting areas with difficult adhesion, like aluminum and galvanized surfaces.
Insulate the areas around the surface to be painted with tape and paper.
Protect the floor with plastic or newspapers
Painting new iron or steel surfaces:

Sand the surface lightly.
Use the NEUCEPRIMER OXI or NEUCEPRIMER LUX primers followed by a coat of universal NEUCECAPA binder  for a anti-corrosive protection and proper adhesion of the enamel.
Sand lightly between coats and paint with NEUCEXTRA enamel.

Repainting:

When repainting, lightly sand so as to matte the old enamel and promote adhesion of the new paint, and then paint.

Surfaces with deep rust:

Remove the broken chips of rust with a wire brush and remove the surface rust. Use Rust Remover to help.
Prevent the spread of deep rust by applying rust Reconverter.
Apply NEUCEPRIMER OXI or NEUCEPRIMER LUX, followed by NEUCECAPA universal binder, sanding lightly between applications.
Paint with Neucextra Enamel in 2-3 coats.
Painting with Corroveda: If it is superficial  rust, then, remove loose particles of rust with sandpaper, clean the surface and paint directly with Corroveda, sanding lightly between coats.

Painting on aluminum or galvanized surfaces:

Sand the surface softly to improve adhesion.
Paint with Galvaneuce in 2-3 coats.
Clean the accessories with the appropriate diluent.
If you use synthetic enamels, sand accessories with Synthetic Diluent or another one indicated in the technical data sheet.
If painting with aqueous enamel (Aqualur) execute the cleaning with soap and water.
Dispose of empty cans in the appropriate recycle bin.
